Faith Formation

The Faith Formation program at St. Mary of the Assumption is a fun, family oriented faith formation program. Our program is interactive and educational, teaching the basics of Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, while incorporating current events, all while having fun while learning. We instill in the children a love of our Lord and a love for our Holy Catholic Church, both at a parish level and at a universal level. We stress kindness, compassion and service to others, living in the image of God, as we are called to do. We have classes from First Grade to Confirmation.

For more information or to join our wonderful program,

please contact Catherine Mackey, Director of Faith Formation, at 635-5762 ext. 110.

Prerequisites for this program are:

  • A registered member of St. Mary’s Parish

  • Proof of Baptism. If not baptized here at St. Mary’s Parish, a copy of the Baptism Certificate is required.

  • The child must have successfully completed a year of Faith Formation classes prior to registering for the sacraments.

  • Students need to attend scheduled Faith Formation classes during the year. Those attending St. Mary’s Academy or another Catholic school receive their Faith Formation in school so they do not need to register for our classes, but do need to register for the sacramental program (First Eucharist & Reconciliation Workshops, Confirmation Years 1 & 2).

Dear Parents,

Next weekend, I will be at the doors by the fountain of Mary (near the Parish Office), handing out the Gospel Weekly Readers (our Faith Formation text books) along with the online codes so you can access the GWR online! I will be there on Saturday, November 7 from 5:10-6:00 and Sunday, November 8 from 10:00-11:00. Come by either day to pick up your text books and your online code!

I will also be handing out paper bags and shopping lists so families can take them and fill them with food for the annual Turkey Trot Food Drive! Grab a bag, a list, and shop for those who are so desperately in need this holiday season!

Scrapbook paper will also be available for any family who would like to make a scrap book page for the Annal family. The Annals are a beloved Faith Formation and parish family and we plan on sending them the gift of a scrap book for Christmas. It will be filled with memories of their girls, along with heartfelt messages. May we keep them in prayer.

I look forward to seeing you all next weekend! Remember, if you'd like your online code so you can access your textbook online before next weekend, just email me your child's name and grade and I will send it to you!

May God bless you and keep you and those you love healthy and well. You remain in my prayers.

Yours in Christ,

Cathy Mackey

Director of Faith Formation
